So what is the fun of being a staffer at a Jamboree?
Scout leaders for official contingent troops work a solid 15 day and night schedule looking after their troops. As a staffer, you work a regular work day. At the end of your shift, you have no big responsibilities. Most staffers work a day then get the next day off for fun.
Venturer staffers can still network with some of the nation’s best Venturers and Venturing leaders and see and experience nearly all the fun others have. They can experience the event at a reduced rate which does not include travel to and from the event.
In 2010 the Venturing Mine exhibit was a popular attraction with Scouts in the only air conditioned simulated underground adventure.
The staff fee for Venturers (and adults under age 25) will be $425. Transportation is not included in this figure.

The Morse Code interpreter strip designates those who are proficient in Morse Code and denotes their availability for emergency communications and other types of supporting communication for Scouting and the community. Youth and adults may wear this strip if they show their knowledge of Morse Code by:
Carrying on a five‐minute conversation in Morse Code at a speed of at least 5 words per minute.
Copying correctly a two‐minute message sent in Morse Code at a minimum of 5 words per minute. Copying means writing the message down as it is received.
Writing a letter in the language does not apply for Morse Code.
Sending a 25 word written document in Morse Code at a minimum of 5 words per minute.
Yes. Just like the other foreign language interpreter strips.
Do I need to submit proof of passing when ordering the strip?
No, the item will be available in local scout shops or online for order. The usual leader order / recognition process would apply for ordering a strip for presentation for youth. You will not need to submit proof of passing – we use our Scout’s honor system for adults.
Is there a board of review?
If there is doubt of the youth’s proficiency in the language, the Scoutmaster/Advisor/Cubmaster can administer the test, or someone they designate. There is no formal testing procedure or requirement.
Where does the interpreter strip go?
Just above the Boy Scouts of America embroidery strip above the right pocket. The same location applies to the Sea Scouting uniform, Boy Scouting and Cub Scout uniforms.
