Top Shot – Shooting Sports Weekend
February 17 – 19
for Boy Scouts and Venturers ($15 per person)
Enjoy a camporee-style event with shooting sports including .22 rflle, shotgun, archery, slingshots, tomahawks, throwing knives, and muzzle-loaders. Venturers will also shoot .22 pistols, 9mm pistols, and .30-30 rifles. Team and individual awards will be presented.
Spring Break Treks
March 19 – 24
for Boy Scouts and Venturers. Pick one of the three ($150 per person)
Trek 1: Backpacking Basics: lndroduction to backpacking for ages 12+
Trek 2: Kodiak Leadership Course: Outdoor leadership trek for ages 14+
Trek 3: Outdoor Adventure Tournament: Extreme competitive event for ages 14+
Trail Crew Week
May 28 – June 2
Participants may earn their way to NYLT or the 50-Miler by working on the trail crew.
Earn a free day at camp for each day worked on the trail.
Crews will construct several miles of trails in the backcountry.
No fee. Participants must be 13 years old and meet fitness standards.
50 – Miler Trek
June 3 – 9
Youth must be 13 years of age and meet fitness standards. $150 per participant
Enjoy a week of canoeing, cycling, and hiking on a 50 – mile trek. Participants will earn the BSA’s coveted 50-Miler Award. The route will include the Illinois River, Lake Tenkiller, and the Cookson Hills.
National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT)
June 4 – 9
Leadership skills course for qualified Boy Scouts and Venturers. $225 per Scout/ Venturer
NYLT is an exciting program designed to provide Scouts and Venturers with leadership skills and experience they can use in their home troops and crews and in other situations demanding leadership of self and others.
