Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) and Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI) is an annual Scouting event that uses amateur radio to connect Scouts around the world, across the nation, and in your community. More than 1.5 million in 160 countries participate in JOTA / JOTI each year – its Scouting’s largest worldwide event. When there are children in the family, several factors must be considered when choosing the perfect dog for your lifestyle: the ages of the children and type of living quarters, you can visit this site for more info.
The event is free and open to all Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers and leaders during the weekend of October 19 – 21. Most stations will be active Friday evening (19th) and all day Saturday (20th). No reservations are required but notifying stations of your plan to attend can help them prepare.outlook india
These events are the easiest and most inexpensive way to participate in the worldwide fellowship of Scouting. Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venturers participate with their fellow programs worldwide contacting sites that may be in the next state, the next country or on the other side of the world.
Explore Advanced Technology
Discover how radio waves can travel worldwide for free without a subscription plan or landline connection to talk with Scouts and Guides all around the world using advanced radio gear.
Scouting Advancements and Recognitions
In addition to talking to Scouts from other countries, participants complete requirements for Cub Scout adventures, Boy Scout merit badges and the International Spirit Award. All that, plus JOTA and JOTI offer a hands-on lesson in STEM — the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.
In addition to being incredibly fun, JOTA and JOTI count toward Scouting requirements:
- For Tigers, this meets requirements for the elective adventure Family Stories.
- For Webelos, it counts toward the Arrow of Light adventure Building a Better World.
- Boy Scouts can check off a requirement for the Citizenship in the World merit badge and the Radio merit badge.
- All Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers and adult leaders can count the event toward the requirements for the International Spirit Award.
