Nominations are being accepted from now until December 31, 2008 for Venturing Awards to be presented at the Venturing Forum in February.

The following recognitions and awards are available for nominations for Venturers and adults.

Venturing Leadership Award

The Venturing Leadership Award is presented by councils, areas/regions, and the BSA National Council to Venturers and adults who have made exceptional contributions to Venturing and who exemplify the Venturing Code and Oath.  This nomination requires a form and letters of reference.  It is represented by silver and considered a council level recognition of performance and leadership as Silver Beaver awards are.

Nominations for the following district awards are also being accepted until December 31, 2008

The following honors are also open for nomination / recognition.

• Crew of the Year
• Venturing President of the Year
• Venturer of the Year
• Advisor of the Year
• Chartered Organization of the Year

There is no form to fill out for the above listed awards.  To nominate email Brian Chinn the following information:

name of the award, name and unit of the nominee, your name and contact info, a brief explanation, and any other helpful information.

Also at the February forum, the district would like to recognize any Venturers in the council who have received the Silver, Ranger or other high-level Venturing award.  Send your information to Brian.

Adult Training & Performance Recognitions

Advisors and other Venturing leaders who have earned the Venturing Advisor Award of Merit, Venturing Leader Training Award, and Venturing Advisor’s Key will be recognized as well.  If anyone in your crew received these honors in 2008, please let us know.  Below is a review of the adult training / performance awards available in Venturing.

Awards will be presented at the Annual Venturing District Awards and Recognition Event in February. This will be in place of the regular monthly Forum meeting.
