As most of you know, the Council, as most businesses, schools, charities, and non-profits continues to suffer through the current recession. As a result, and in spite of what we might have wished or hoped for, changes have been made. One of those changes will be a re-organization of what we had come to think of as the Venturing District. The Venturing District will no longer exist as a unit complete with a separate Commissioner Corps, a Key 3, an FOS campaign, a popcorn campaign and most importantly, a District Executive.
That doesn’t mean the Council is dropping the Venturing program!
It does mean the Venturing District Committee will most likely re-organize with a Council perspective. The VOA will still exist, and many of the program details worked out earlier this month at the Venturing Planning Meeting can still function and operate. More on that later…
For now, we’ll need to let a number of thing play out as the Council is in the process of doing some re-organization. The exact role of Venturing in the Council will be worked out in meetings and discussions over the next couple of weeks. There is much to discuss and few details to share, but stay tune to this website for the latest in LFC Venturing News.
