The time for celebration of 100 years of Scouting in America is fast approaching and with it come the call for another BIG CELEBRATION! Late October, 2009 will be a huge Camporee to be held on the OPUBCO grounds at Britton Road and Broadway Extension. The property has several lakes, acres of open space, and access to OPUBCO facilities for trainings and meetings.
This Camporee is designed to offer programming for every age group in Scouting, especially for Venture aged youth. Arrangements are being made for shooting sports, including pistol. There will also be target range archery and perhaps 3-D archery. We hope to hold a Kayak racing tournament as well as climbing/rappelling.
What other program ideas would you like to see? Your ideas are needed NOW! Post a comment to offer your ideas for activities for Venture-aged youth during the Camporee to honor 100 years of Scouting in America.
